I am currently on an art foundation course at Oxford Brookes and have finished all my interviews for my degree courses to: Kingston college of Art, Nottingham Trent, Camberwell, Oxford Brookes and Newcastle. As i said in my ‘Future Plans’ post i said how Newcastle was my first choice and i have received and unconditional offer from them and so will be joining the course in September!
However i thought the interview i had there was the worst one i did. I was extremely nervous and had two rather reserved tutors and personally i felt i didn’t get to express myself in the interview. Whereas for some of the other interview i had no problem chatting to the tutors and explaining my portfolio. This might have been due to the fact that Newcastle was the only interview with a ‘panel’ of two tutors and one third year student which is a little more intimidating than a one on one which all the others were. Hopefully it was my art work speaking for itself as they take 15 minutes before to look through your portfolio without you?
Nonetheless i’m really happy to be going there and am looking forward to what the future will hold for me as an art student
